Having a Whiter Teeth Can Give You a Younger Appearance
Posted on 2/8/2021 by Jonathan J. Golab, DDS, PA
People tend to look older than they feel because their teeth pick up surface staining, and the enamel thins over time. Therefore, people with yellow and dingy teeth often look older than their actual years. If you want to look younger, you may want to consider having an in-office whitening or having veneers placed on your front teeth.
What is nice about having teeth whitened in our office is that the process goes fairly quickly. Plus, you can lighten and brighten your smile about five shades lighter. This can happen in under an hour if you visit us and we control the process. The whitening formula we use also includes ingredients that reduce the sensitivity often associated with the bleach used to whiten the teeth. If you want to take ten years off your smile and appearance quickly, this is the way to do it. However, with that being said, not everyone is a strong candidate for an in-office whitening procedure. If your teeth are more gray than yellow, they will not whiten as easily. Therefore, in this case, you may need to look at an alternative. Bonding costs less than veneers, but it also does not last as long. However, if you want to correct some gaps or chips in your smile and whiten them simultaneously, you can do so by choosing either bonding or veneers. You can always add the veneers when you can afford to do so.
Before you review the methods for whitening your teeth, we may need to replace or add some restorations so they match the whiter teeth. You cannot whiten artificial teeth, such as fixed bridges or crowns, so you need to make sure these types of restorations are placed or switched out first before you have any type of whitening procedure performed. Whether you have an in-office whitening done or choose to bond your front teeth or add veneers, you will be rewarded with a whiter and brighter youth-giving smile.
Would you like to know more about an in-office whitening or similar cosmetic procedure? If so, give us a call today, so we can help you realize a whiter and younger-looking smile.
