Dental Implant FAQ
Flower Mound, TX
Dental implants have many benefits for your teeth and mouth health and understanding how they can help you is often the first step to getting them installed and working for you. If you are looking to have dental implants placed in your mouth, you likely have many questions. Questions that range from how the procedure works, to what dental implants are, or how safe they are to place in your mouth.
At Jonathan J. Golab, DDS, PA, we have an expert team of dentists who can inform you all about dental implant procedures. We want to help answer some of the most common questions you may be having while deciding if you would like to get dental implants.
Dental implants are one of the most effective ways to repair a missing tooth, but it is far from the only way. Still, whether you have lost a single tooth, several teeth, or all of your teeth, you will be able to see one of our dentists to discuss our plan of action.
Another question we see a lot is, how much do they cost? Dental implants are designed to be affordable, and they cost about the same as a fixed bridge procedure. Depending on how many teeth you are replacing, the health of your teeth and jawbone before the procedure, and your mouth health, the cost of the implants could be affected.
How Healthy Should My Mouth Be?
If you are losing teeth as an adult, typically, it is because of some other mouth-related health problem. It could be because of infections, advanced gum disease, decay, plaque buildup, or any other oral health issues.
Do not let lack of good mouth health stop you from coming to see us. It might require more work to get you ready for dental implants, but we are prepared to help you get the smile you have always wanted.
Depending on your mouth’s health, we may need to provide bone and gum grafting services to repair your mouth structure prior to you receiving dental implants. Once you can support dental implants, then we will get them installed.
What if I Have Dentures?
For patients that have either full or partial dentures in their mouths, dental implants can still help you achieve a perfect bright smile. Unlike dentures, dental implants are not removable and have no risk of coming loose in your mouth. If you received full or partial dentures before coming to us for a dental implant, then do not worry.
We can do a procedure called a fixed denture. This permanently snaps the denture into place inside of your mouth, and you will not have to worry about the denture slipping, coming out of your mouth, or having to worry about only eating certain types of foods.
