Our office is a full service, general dentistry practice offering routine checkups and cleanings along with dental emergency care, restorations, and cosmetic treatments. For health conscious patients who prefer holistic approaches to medical and dental treatment, Dr. Golab provides holistic dental services with a focus on oral systemic health, early detection, prevention, mercury-free dentistry, and biocompatible restorations.

Without receiving regular checkups and cleanings, a person’s oral health can quickly fall into disarray. There are many conditions where diagnostics and the trained eye of a dentist are necessary to begin the process of detecting potential health issues. Beyond looking for signs of common conditions like periodontal (gum) disease and tooth decay, checkups include thorough inspections of the neck and oral cavity. One important part of a checkup is an oral cancer screening. An oral cancer screening can literally save your life since oral cancer can be fatal as it advances.

Like checkups, the need for cleanings shouldn’t be ignored. Cleanings remove substances that we cannot brush or floss away at home. Having a dental cleaning every six months can greatly reduce your risk of developing gum disease, too. A professional cleaning is not invasive or uncomfortable. In fact, many people are happy with the results of their cleanings because their mouths feel impeccably clean.

What Is A Periodontal Disease and Maintenance Therapy Appointment? Dr. Golab will help you understand better what Periodontal Disease is and how to treat the problem. If you have periodontal disease, you may require scaling and root planing to remove the diseased deposits from the roots and teeth, which is the most conservative approach for treatment. The notion that the health of the body and mouth are connected is not new; however, a wealth of research has been devoted to examining the links between chronic health conditions and oral health issues. Our practice strives to improve our patients’ oral health and wellbeing by taking their overall health into account.

For those interested in holistic dental services, we recommend calling our office to learn more about our treatment philosophy and services. Holistic dentistry centers on treating dental conditions with natural compounds and materials. For instance, our team can safely remove amalgam (metal) fillings with a system that traps vapors and particles released during the removal of old dental work.

Dental emergencies can throw a wrench into your daily life by producing significant discomfort and decreasing your oral function. When our guests need emergency care, our mission is to increase their comfort and oral function so that restorations and other treatments (if necessary) can be scheduled. Common dental emergencies include knocked out/broken teeth, toothaches, abscesses, and failing restorations.

If you are bleeding excessively or have sustained severe injuries, visit your nearest emergency room for treatment. When calling to make an emergency appointment, be sure to leave us your contact information and details about the nature of your injury so that we can prepare for your visit.

Common Dentistry Questions

Why should I go to the dentist regularly?

Visiting the dentist regularly is imperative to maintaining good oral health. Dental appointments are very important because oral examinations and cleanings significantly increase the likelihood of the early detection of disease. Visiting us regularly gives our team an opportunity to screen for common oral conditions like tooth decay and periodontal disease as well as more serious issues like oral cancer. Moreover, dental cleanings provide way more than just a thorough polish on your teeth.  Cleanings remove dangerous substances like plaque and tartar, both of which contribute to caries and gum disease. Foregoing routine cleanings could lead to the accumulation of tartar, one of the most common contributors to periodontal disease.

How often should I brush and floss?

Your oral hygiene routine is your daily defense against harmful bacteria and the development of substances like plaque and tartar. An effective oral hygiene regimen should include twice-daily brushing and once-daily flossing. People should brush for two minutes each time by gently brushing the surfaces of every tooth. Brushing too hard can cause gingival irritation.

While brushing greatly reduces the accumulation of plaque and tartar, it is not enough to keep teeth and gums healthy. Flossing is necessary on a daily basis so that the hard-to-reach areas between teeth and along the gums are clean.

What if I have a dental emergency?

Our practice is equipped to handle common dental emergencies like knocked out or broken teeth, toothaches, and lost or broken restorations. If a person has endured a severe injury or is bleeding excessively, visit your nearest emergency room for treatment. In the event of a dental emergency, it is important to call our practice as soon as possible so that we can prepare for your visit and make room in our schedule. Additionally, there are some instances where calling ahead can help increase your comfort as our team can give you tips to help tide you over until you can visit us.

We recommend saving our number in your mobile phone so that contacting our office is easy.

How often should I have a cleaning?

You should have a dental cleaning every six months. Twice-a-year cleanings are essential to keeping teeth and gums free of irritating and harmful substances.
